STAR Center’s new 5-day Combined Basic and Advanced IGF Code Operations (Simulator) Course (STRCTR-1015) is approved to provide two fuel transfer credits towards an Advanced IGF Code Operations endorsement. This new course meets all classroom training requirements for both the STCW Basic and Advanced IGF Code Operations endorsements required for personnel on vessels to which the code applies, including LNG fueled vessels.
Obtaining the STCW Basic IGF Operations endorsement requires completing the course and submitting an application and the certificate to the USCG. The Advanced IGF Code Operations endorsement is obtained by completing an Advanced IGF Code course and obtaining 30 days onboard a ship to which the IGF Code applies (i.e. LNG fueled vessel) while holding the basic STCW endorsement as well as participating in three fuel transfers and then submitting an application and certificates for the endorsement to the USCG.
STAR Center will alternate offerings of classroom, both in-person and online as well as simulator courses. Please review the schedule when applying to ensure you register for the correct course, with simulation (fuel transfers) or without. The Combined Basic and Advanced IGF Code (LNG Fuel) Operations with Simulation Course is not available online.
