The AMO officers and SIU crew members of the Cape Inscription and Cape Isabel assisted with extensive onboard logistics, lighting and more during filming for the TV series The Rookie at the end of January in Long Beach, California. Both vessels worked to host hundreds onboard during a largely around-the-clock operation. As with their service as key sealift assets for many years, these ships delivered and the shoot was a success, with support from MARAD and the operating company, Ocean Duchess. As many know, MARAD will be sending the Southern Cape I ships to Texas this year for scheduled downgrading. These two ships and the entire class remain and have been incredibly valuable for all sealift needs throughout their service.
