Preparations to close the American Maritime Officers office in Toledo, Ohio at the end of November began last week as union operations for the Great Lakes are transitioning to AMO’s established office in Traverse City, Mich.
The AMO office in Traverse City – located at 830 East Front Street, Suite 204 – is across the street from the Great Lakes Maritime Academy and has greatly improved the union’s ability to recruit and participate in industry events at the school. The location facilitates informational meetings and in-person availability with greater convenience for AMO members and applicants in the area.
Continuity in service for AMO members will be maintained during this process and the AMO Great Lakes Representative works from the Traverse City office.
