AMO Gains New Jobs on New Sealift Vessel Montauk

nullThe MV Montauk is the latest addition to the U.S. flag fleet.

Sealift Inc. and American Maritime Officers have come to terms on a multi-year contract to operate the multi-purpose heavy vessel MV Montauk, bringing more job opportunities to the AMO membership.

Formerly known as MV Sjard, the MV Montauk will be reflagged into the U.S. Registry in the coming weeks and is expected to enter service in August.

MV Montauk, which was built in 2009, is the third new deep sea vessel added to the AMO fleet in as many months, proving new tonnage under the U.S. flag is consistently being trusted to AMO officers.

MV Montauk is the fifth Sealift Inc. vessel manned in all licensed positions by AMO, joining MV Captain David I. Lyon, MV Maj. Richard Winters, MV Sagamore and MV Maj. Bernard Fisher.
