The Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) recognized more than 80 vessels operated under contract with American Maritime Officers with the Jones F. Devlin Safety Achievement Award during the CSA annual awards luncheon on June 20.
Devlin Awards are presented to companies with vessels that have operated for at least two years without a lost-time injury. Of the AMO-contracted vessels recognized this year, 15 have operated 10 years or more without a lost-time injury.
In total, 1,242 vessels, both foreign and domestic, with a cumulative amount of 8,224 years without a lost-time incident were recognized at the annual event, which was held in New Orleans, La.
Among the companies recognized that own and/or operate vessels manned under contract by AMO were Crescent Towing; Crowley Maritime Corporation; Keystone Shipping Co. (Key Lakes); Intrepid Personnel & Provisioning (Crowley); Ocean Shipholdings, Inc.; OSG Ship Management, Inc.; Pasha Hawaii; Seabulk Tankers, Inc.; Shell Ship Management; and TOTE Services, Inc.
The Chamber of Shipping of America represents more than 30 U.S.-based companies that own, operate or charter oceangoing tankers, containerships, tugs and other merchant vessels engaged in both the domestic and international trades, as well as entities that maintain a commercial interest in the operation of such vessels.
