The American Maritime Officers Membership Assistance Program
The American Maritime Officers Membership Assistance Program (MAP) is a permanent, independent, tax-exempt and voluntary disaster relief fund established by the national executive board of AMO to aid AMO members, applicants for membership in AMO and AMO retirees who suffer damage or loss during natural disasters—hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes, mud slides, tsunami.

The fund was established after Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans and other Gulf Coast communities in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama late last summer. AMO made an initial contribution to the fund, which is now sustained by individual tax-deductible contributions. The fund has already provided benefits to AMO families in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida communities damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Benefits from the AMO Membership Assistance Program are paid in varying amounts determined exclusively by need.

The application for relief benefits under the Membership Assistance Program is online in the forms section of this site and can opened directly by clicking here.

The AMO Membership Assistance Program can be reached by toll-free phone at: 866-269-8777

AMO members can make tax-deductible voluntary contributions to the AMO Membership Assistance Program by sending checks or money orders, as well as authorized vacation deductions, to:
