AMO ocean rangers in Alaskan cruise trade
American Maritime Officers member Sterling Pearson, here in Ketchikan during a port inspection of the Seven Seas Mariner with the Norweigan Pearl in the background, is one of 25 AMO members currently sailing as ocean rangers aboard international cruise ships operating in Alaskan waters. AMO members began work in April as ocean rangers with Crowley Liner Services under a contract with the State of Alaska. More than 40 AMO members have completed the training program to work as ocean rangers aboard international cruise ships.
