A federal judge on Aug. 25 ordered a lawsuit brought by American Maritime Officers against the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association back to state court in Ohio, where the complaint was filed by AMO in December 2005.
U.S.-flagged vessels shipped 12.3 million net tons of dry bulk cargo in July, an increase of 3.4 percent over the same period last year and 7 percent higher than the five-year average for July.
