American Classic Buys Cruise Ship For U.S. Registry
American Classic Voyages Company (AMCV) Aug. 10 announced that it reached
an agreement with Holland America Line to purchase the M/S Nieuw
Amsterdam for $114.5 million. The ship will be re-flagged into the U.S.
registry and will operate in the Hawaiian Islands' cruise trade.
Interlake Steamship Christens Tug 'Dorothy Ann'
The Interlake Steamship Company Recently christened the tug unit for the
integrated tug-barge Pathfinder. The tug, Dorothy Ann, will operate
on the U.S. Great Lakes in the Jones Act trades and will be manned in all
licensed positions by American Maritime Officers.
