Sen. John Warner (R-VA) received the Propeller Club of the United States 2007 Salute to Congress Award. Presenting Sen. Warner with the award May 1 in Maryland is Propeller Club International President Rockney Nigretto (left). The Propeller Club selected Sen. Warner for the award for his consistent and strong support of the U.S. maritime industry. First elected in 1978, Sen. Warner is the former chairman and current second ranking Republican on the Armed Services Committee. He also serves on the Intelligence Committee, Committee on the Environment and Public Works and Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. Previously he served as undersecretary and secretary of the Navy. Sen. Warner served in the Navy during World War II and as a Marine Corps officer in Korea.
