    Jones Act stands on strong political support

    Overseas Shipholding Group Senior Vice President Jonathan Whitworth, head of the OSG U.S.-Flag Strategic Business Unit, briefed the Propeller Club on the state of the Jones Act May 1. Whitworth, whose company operates several Jones Act vessels manned by American Maritime Officers, met with AMO National President Tom Bethel at the event. The Jones Act fleet continues to thrive with strong legislative support and solid backing from the U.S. maritime industry and American maritime labor.
