          The MV 2nd Lt. John P. Bobo is operated by American Overseas Marine and manned in all licensed positions by American Maritime Officers. The ship is named for the U.S. Marine Corp. Reserve officer who was mortally wounded during a battle in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam.

The study determined how RRF improvements made by MARAD after Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf in 1990 and 1991 had influenced RRF activation and service during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
