U.S.-flag vessel operators on the Great Lakes are working to comply with the Alternative Security Program for Great Lakes Dry-Bulk Carriers developed by the Lake Carriers' Association and approved by the U.S. Coast Guard under the guidelines of the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002.
