The Industrial Challenger is one of two heavy-lift vessels that will be enrolled in the new Maritime Security Program. Pacific Gulf Marine, which employs AMO members in all licensed positions, has been operating the Industrial Challenger and will operate the Industrial Chief, new to the AMO fleet. The biggest gain for American Maritime Officers under the renewed Maritime Security Program was in the car carrier fleet. AMO represents the licensed officers aboard the Patriot, Freedom and Resolve, which will continue to be enrolled in the MSP. Three more car carriers--the Takasago, Otello and Aida--will be reflagged for the MSP by American Roll-On/Roll-Off Carriers (ARC). Interocean Ugland Management operates the car carriers and employs AMO members in all licensed positions.
