          AMO member Capt. David Eddy, master of the USNS Gordon, accepts an Admiral of the Ocean Sea mariner's plaque in New York on behalf of the officers and crew of his ship, who March 1, 1999, rescued two United Arab Emirates citizens clinging to a sinking fishing boat.

          The officers and crew members of the USNS Watson, manned in all licensed positions by American Maritime Officers, recently rescued two U.S. Navy sailors who had apparently been thrown from their pleasure boat in the lagoon of Diego Garcia.
