The Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association violated labor federation rules when it claimed representation of the licensed officers aboard the Great Lakes tug-barge Dorothy Ann-Pathfinder, an impartial umpire said Nov. 17.
U.S.-flagged Great Lakes vessels moved 11.1 million net tons of dry-bulk cargo during the month of October, a decrease of 3.4 percent compared with the same period the previous year.
