AMO officers recently completed the first course in Marine High-Voltage Safety offered by RTM STAR Center, and another class has been scheduled for American Maritime Officers members and applicants.
The course is designed to meet expanding high-voltage training requirements in the U.S. maritime industry and is specific to marine high-voltage safety. Attended by both AMO deck and engineering officers, the first course was taught by a 40-year veteran of the high-voltage industry from the Cadick Corporation.
"I only wish I'd had this course 20 years ago,” said AMO member William Lewando. “I believe this is one of the best classes I have taken at the STAR Center. The information I was exposed to will definitely help me in the future."
The next three-day course is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Nov. 28 and will conclude Dec. 1. The course was scheduled based on the availability of the instructor from Cadick Corporation.
