BEAUMONT, Texas--The 'USNS 'Dahl', which was delivered to Military Sealift Command in July, has a bright future in sealift support for the U.S. military, having successfully completed its role in Bright Star 1999 maneuvers. BEAUMONT, Texas--It has been said that the allure of the ocean and a sense of adventure once inspired men to go to sea for their living. For cadets John Edwards, 19, and Candace Hancock, 20, from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point, N.Y., spending some time at sea has proven inspiration enough to consider working aboard an ocean-going ship for a living. The AMO and Seafarers International Union members aboard the 'American Cormorant' did a typically superb job during a recent Military Sealift Command cargo load-out in the United Kingdom. |
