The U.S.-flag cruise ship ms Patriot
AMO National Secretary-Treasurer Robert McKay, Maggie Inouye , wife of Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI) and sponsor of the ship, and Patriot Captain Mark Zarnoff. The Patriot was purchased from Holland America Cruise Lines and brought under U.S. registry as part of Project America. American Classic is building two more deep-sea ships at a U.S. shipyard as part of the program.

Captain Zarnoff and American Classic Voyages CEO Philip Calian attended the ceremony. The company also owns the U.S.-flag cruise ship ss Independence, which is also manned by AMO in licensed positions and operated in the Hawaiian Islands cruise trades under the Passenger Vessel Services Act .
The United States Lines logo marks the stack of the ms Patriot, the latest deep-sea cruise ship to enter service in the U.S.-flag fleet. AMO is filling the licensed positions aboard the Patriot and will man the two deep-sea cruise ships under construction at Ingalls Shipbuilding when they join the U.S. Lines fleet.
